Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

This Privacy Policy explains how Raster Logic, LLC (“Raster Logic”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use the Raster Logic Service at rasterlogic.com. Raster Logic, LLC is the controller of your personal information.

2. Information we collect

• Account information. When you sign in with Google or Microsoft, we receive your name, email address, and a profile identifier (and avatar, if provided) through our authentication provider. When you create an account with an email address and password, we store your email address and the name you give us; your password is never stored in readable form — our authentication provider keeps only a salted hash of it, and we cannot see it.
• Project & content data. The layouts, designs, panel specifications and project files you create are stored in your account so you can reach them from any device. These can contain information you choose to enter about your own clients, venues and jobs.
• Sign-in and security records. Each time you sign in we record the time, your IP address, an approximate location (city and region) derived from that IP address, your browser’s user-agent string, and a session identifier. While you are signed in with the app open, we also record a periodic “last seen” timestamp. We use these to secure accounts, investigate abuse, and see whether the Service is working.
• Payment information. Subscriptions are processed by Paddle, our Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your billing and payment details directly; we do not receive or store your full card number. We receive limited transaction and subscription-status information (such as your plan, status, and renewal date) to provision your access.
• Usage & analytics data. We use product analytics and website analytics to understand how the Service is used — pages and screens viewed, features used, clicks and other interactions, device and browser type, referring site, and approximate location derived from your IP address.
• Advertising measurement. Our public marketing website uses Google Ads conversion tracking to measure whether our advertising works. See section 7.
• Error & diagnostic data. When something goes wrong, we collect error reports and technical metadata — including the error, a stack trace, the page you were on, and your account identifier — to diagnose and fix problems.
• Bug reports. If you submit an in-app “Report a bug”, we collect the subject and message you write, a recent tail of your browser’s console log, and technical details about your browser and window (user-agent, language, window and screen size, time zone, the page you were on, and your email address and account tier). If you tick the boxes, we also collect a screenshot of your screen and a copy of your current project. Both boxes are off by default. Section 5 explains where reports go.
• Uploaded documents. If you attach a manufacturer datasheet to a panel you create, we store that file in your account’s private folder.
• Cookies & local storage. See section 6.

3. How we use information

We use personal information to:

• provide, maintain, and secure the Service and your account;
• store and sync the projects you create;
• process subscriptions and manage your plan and entitlements;
• respond to support requests, bug reports and feedback;
• detect, investigate and prevent abuse, fraud and security incidents;
• understand and improve how the Service is used, and measure our advertising; and
• comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

4. Legal bases (EEA / UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal information on the bases of performing our contract with you (providing the Service), our legitimate interests (securing, supporting and improving the Service), your consent (where requested), and compliance with legal obligations.

5. How we share information (sub-processors)

We share personal information with service providers who process it on our behalf to run the Service. The current list, and what each one receives, is maintained on its own page: Sub-processors.

Bug reports are copied to GitHub. When you submit a bug report, its contents — including your email address, the technical details listed in section 2, and links to any screenshot or project copy you attached — are copied into our private issue tracker on GitHub, which is where we do the work of fixing it. The attachments themselves stay in private storage and are reachable only through links that expire.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or users’ safety, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

6. Cookies & local storage

We store data on your device for two different reasons, and they are worth separating.

• Strictly necessary. Your sign-in session (so you stay logged in), an automatically saved copy of the project you are working on, and interface preferences such as panel widths and which sections are open. Clearing these signs you out and can lose unsaved work. The Service cannot work without them.
• Analytics and advertising measurement. Cookies and identifiers set by Google Analytics, Google Ads and our product-analytics provider, used to understand usage and to measure advertising.

We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles about you, and we do not allow third parties to track you across unrelated websites through the Service.

7. Advertising, “sale” and “sharing”

We do not sell your personal information for money. We do use Google Ads conversion tracking on our public marketing website, to measure whether our advertising works. Under some U.S. state privacy laws, advertising measurement of this kind can be treated as “sharing” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising — so we disclose it plainly here rather than rely on a blanket denial.

You can opt out today, independently of us:

• Google’s Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on stops Google Analytics on every site, including ours.
• Google’s My Ad Center controls ad personalization on your Google account.
• Most browsers can block or clear cookies for an individual site.

Do Not Track. Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for how to respond to one, and we do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

8. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we have a reason to:

• Account and project data — for as long as your account is active.
• Sign-in and security records — for a limited period, long enough to investigate abuse and security incidents, and then deleted.
• Bug reports — while the report is open and for a period afterwards, so we can tell whether an issue has been seen before. Screenshots and attached project copies are debugging aids rather than records, and are deleted sooner than the report text.
• Email delivery records — for a limited period, to troubleshoot delivery and to show that a notice was sent.
• Billing records — as required by tax and accounting law. These are largely held by Paddle, our Merchant of Record.

If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where we must retain it to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Deletions work their way out of routine encrypted backups on the normal backup rotation rather than instantly.

9. Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You will never be treated differently for exercising one.

• Update your details — your name and preferences can be changed in your profile at any time.
• Delete individual projects — from the project library, at any time.
• Access, export, or delete your account and its data — email privacy@rasterlogic.com and we will action it. We may need to verify that the request comes from the account holder.
• Analytics and advertising — see section 7.

If you are in the EEA or the UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority.

10. How we store and secure information

Your data is held by the infrastructure providers listed on the Sub-processors page, on servers in the United States. Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and data is encrypted at rest by those providers. Access to production data is restricted to accounts that need it. Projects, uploaded datasheets and bug-report attachments are held in private storage and are reachable only through short-lived signed links, never a public URL. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes, by our authentication provider.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. International data transfers

We and our service providers are based in or process data in the United States. If you access the Service from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other countries, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

12. Children’s privacy

The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
